Like your site. I’m a geezer but not a geezer who thinks out loud inane things I often hear from other geezers around me like “why does today’s music suck so much?” and/or “the best music was in the 60′s & 70′s”. When listening to Micachu & the Shapes it did remind me of my young days in Amsterdam listening to Gong at the Paradiso floating on the buzz of that good black tar blend.

Thanks Jules! Micachu was definitely among the more underrated records of late. The xx was also an amazing debut – there simply didn’t seem like there was enough ground being broken to warrant a top ten listing; I honestly thought as good as it was, it was a bit overrated this year. Fever Ray was indeed good, but against The Knife and all of the other great releases in 2009, it just didn’t make the cut. If this were a list of 50, though…

Like the picks. So glad to see Michachu up there- it’s usually such an underrated album. I would have to move The xx up a few notches though… and how about Fever Ray? Great commentary too. well done gentlemen, well done.
