I'm a geezer but not a geezer who thinks out loud inane things I often hear from other geezers around me like "why does today's music suck so much?" and/or "the best music was in the 60's & 70's". When listening to Micachu & the Shapes it did remind me of my young days in Amsterdam listening to Gong at the Paradiso floating on the buzz of that good black tar blend. Like your site. Micachu was definitely among the more underrated records of later. The xx was also an amazing debut - there simply didn't seem like there was enough ground being broken to warrant a top ten listing; I honestly thought as good as it was, it was a bit overrated this year. Fever Ray was indeed good, but against The Knife and all of the other great releases in 2009, it just didn't make the cut. If this were a list of 50, though... Thanks Jules!
