And Let The Daylight Be

Great post on Spoon at Aquarium Drunkard.

We continue to be fascinated with CFCF. New track here. Their full length, Continent, is out November 10th.

Writeup and listens on Yo La Tengo at Chromewaves.

Girls cover Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You In The End.”

No Age interview!

Do you think about the transition between playing for a few hundred people at local venues and 15,000 people at a festival? Are you in a different mental place?

I think it’s more like when there’s a lot of people out there, you have to run out like “Alright! I’m doing this for the collective you.” Like, make up a big person, “I’m playing to this one big person right now.” And sometimes, at a smaller thing, you get to joke around and laugh at people in the front of the stage who are flopping around. Or someone says something to you and you’re like, “Wait!” It’s funny how you can play around with them.

  1. Hallo heibrau,

Please note that the umlaut over the ‘a’ in your name changes the sound from ‘brow’ to ‘broi’. FYI.

  2. Richard,

Yes, we’re well aware. We decided to go that route since it’s a tongue-in-cheek homage to the umlaut metal bands of the 80s. We did a bit of “market research,” you could say, before we decided to retain it, and found that most of the potential readership tends to ignore the umlaut entirely, and has enough trouble just pronouncing it as “high brow” alone. :)

What do you think?
