Dazzlingly Comprehensive

Whether or not you agree with all of it, Pitchfork’s top 500 tracks from the 2000s is a fascinating read. We highly recommend it.

Stereogum comments on it, and that’s worth reading too.

Them Crooked Vultures seem pretty popular already. Here they are playing “Elephant.” (This is Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, and John Paul Jones’ new band.)

Franz Ferdinand’s Tour de Franz is a great watch. Tune in.

Far be it from us to dis Radiohead, but their newest, “These Are My Twisted Words” (seen below, live) isn’t all that impressive. We might remind you that In Rainbows was an incredible record. But enough of our opinion! What do you say?

Go here to listen to Karen O and The Kids’ first Where The Wild Things Are track. Neat!

Brendan Benson played Letterman.

One Response to “Dazzlingly Comprehensive”

  1. The Radiohead track actually sounds pretty good to me. That said, a concert scenario is not the best place to make judgements on the material – it’s often in the ‘still being worked out’ phase when they play it live. Just take a listen to the original version of ‘Reckoner’.

I have to admit, I dig the long intro on this one. The vocal melody isn’t doing it for me, but I have a feeling this is something that’ll work better as a recording.

What do you think?
